So let me get this straight (or other options, depending on the person & the moment).  A swingers convention is coming (get your mind out of the gutter) to Grand Island. 

And some residents of the island aren’t too happy about it.  They’re afraid their peaceful little island will turn into Sodom and Gomorrah.

First of all, the swingers will be doing their swinging at a hotel….it’s not like they’re going to be having orgies in the middle of Fantasy Island.  (although I’m getting an interesting image of a ferris wheel)

Anyhow, the group has booked the Grand Island Holiday Inn for the weekend.  They will be the only ones using the hotel….so we don’t have to worry about some tourist family from Iowa stumbling across a scene of depravity and being scarred for life.

It’s a good deal for the hotel, which is now sold out at a slow time of year.  They say any employee who doesn’t want to work this weekend doesn’t have to….and they want to make it very clear….there will be no sex in the pool, and swingers have to wear clothes any place food is served.  (that one’s too easy…I’ll pass)

But some Grand Island residents want the town to step in and prevent the event.  (a premature evacuation?)

For now…. It’s “all systems go”.  But this is Western New York…so anything can happen.  Stay tuned!
